Neighbor Dispute, Dog Bite: Elmhurst Cops
A resident complains about his neighbor, who was issued a no-trespass notice in July, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a neighbor dispute, a dog bite, a car burglary, possible BB gun damage, graffiti and catalytic converter thefts. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Neighbor dispute
- A resident in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road reported that the neighbor who lives behind him drove his car in an area in the back alley of his house about 2:30 p.m. Friday. The neighbor was issued a no-trespass notice July 1. Police left a message with the neighbor to contact the police station.
Dog bite

- A woman was bitten by a brown and white dog with straight fur while she was walking on the sidewalk about 10 a.m. Friday near North and Myrtle. The dog bit her in the upper right thigh below the buttocks. The dog ran away. Police could not find the animal.
Car burglary
- Someone entered an unlocked truck and stole the GPS between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Friday at 155 W. Industrial Drive.
Theft of money

- Money from a wallet left unattended in a conference room was stolen between 8 a.m. and noon Thursday at Rotech of Elmhurst, 501 W. Lake St., No. 102.
Possible BB damage
- A driver told police that something hit her front passenger's side window while she was driving about 6 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of South Saylor. An officer reported the damage was consistent with that of a BB gun.
Graffiti
- A moving container was damaged with spray paint between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn Ave. It was left at the park for the Elmhurst Eagles.
Converter thefts
- Four catalytic converters were stolen overnight Thursday from Chevrolet Express vans in the 700 block of North Church Road.
- A catalytic converter was stolen between 3 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday from a white Ford F350 truck while it was parked on the east side of ERC Delivery Service, 445 W. Fullerton Ave. A converter was also stolen from a white Isuzu NPR truck.
- Catalytic converters were stolen about 3 a.m. Friday from a white Ford Econoline van and a white Chevrolet Equinox at Allied Universal Technology Services, 435 W. Fullerton Ave.
Disturbances
- Police responded to a disturbance about 2 p.m. Saturday at Goodwill Store, 675 W. North Ave. Two people got into an argument, which prompted the store to call police. The store wanted police to issue no-trespass notices to both people.
- The manager at Elmhurst Terrace, 100 Fellows Court, told police Thursday that a woman was banging on the window of the management office to the point where the manager thought it would break. The suspect told police she wanted to return her keys in person rather than dropping them off in the drop box. The suspect was given a no-trespass notice.
Bike theft
- A light blue Red Sport Disc mountain bicycle was stolen from a bike rack between 3 p.m. Aug. 29 and 9 a.m. Aug. 30. The bike was locked.
Car in roadway
- Police responded to a call about a Chevrolet Malibu found unoccupied in the roadway about 4 a.m. Monday near North and Berteau. The car was towed away because it was a hazard for passing cars. An officer contacted the registered owner of the vehicle, who said it had broken down. The officer told the owner where her car was.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 700 block of South Fairchild Avenue told police that a fraudulent purchase in the resident's name was made Thursday.
- A resident in the 100 block of North Clinton Avenue told police Thursday that someone used his personal information to rent an apartment.
