'No Big Thing': Oak Brook Arrests In $6,000 Theft, Assault
The driver crashed into squad cars in an attempt to flee from police, authorities said.
OAK BROOK, IL – Two women failed in their attempt to escape from officers after stealing nearly $6,000 worth of merchandise from two Oak Brook stores, authorities said.
After being arrested, one of the women said it was "no big thing," police said. She smiled for her mugshot.
The women were identified as Martasia Barney, 26, of Chicago, and Psy’che Hayes, 35, of Dubuque.

The women were previously suspected of stealing a woman's wallet on June 25 in Oak Brook.
About 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oak Brook officers saw the women walking into the Oak Brook Center mall from True Food Kitchen, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors. They were said to be carrying empty Forever 21 bags with them.

They left their Volvo running, lights on and backed into a parking spot. The women returned to the car and then went back into the mall, police said.
When they returned, an officer approached them while in his squad car. Both women ran to the car and got inside, while the officer activated his emergency lights and parked his car with the front bumper next to the women's, authorities said.
Barney then crashed the Volvo into the squad car in an attempt to flee, police said. When an officer approached the Volvo, Barney backed up, causing the officer to get out of the way, according to the news release.
Barney also is accused of crashing into an unoccupied Pontiac G6, pushing it out of the parking spot, and then a parked Honda Civic.
Next, Barney crashed into another squad car, police said.
Officers were able to break out the windows of the Volvo and arrest the women.
Hayes said the incident was "no big thing" and that she "would be out tomorrow," prosecutors said. A DuPage County judge ordered the women jailed until their trial.
Police said the women stole $2,714 worth of clothing from Aritzia and $3,282 worth of clothing from Alo Yoga.
Barney and Hayes were charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of retail theft, two counts of criminal damage to government property, two counts of criminal damage to property and one count of aggravated assault, all felonies.
