No Food Access For Dog In Elmhurst: Police

The dog's owner was cited after police responded to complaints, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – A resident was cited Sunday after police received several complaints about his barking dog, according to a police report.

About 1:30 a.m., officers found the barking dog in the 300 block of North Shady Lane. A female lhasa apso was found in an enclosed screened patio with her leash entangled and no access to food, water or proper shelter, police said.

No one was at the house at the time, so the dog was taken to the police station for holding. The owner was later cited on charges of having a barking dog and having no dog license, police said.
