In 1988, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserves as a rifleman within an infantry platoon. Over the years, his unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership qualities propelled him to achieve great heights.
In 1992, Miller was commissioned as an infantry officer in the Army Reserves, a turning point that paved the way for a remarkable journey. One of the most notable aspects of Colonel Miller's military career was his numerous deployments, most recently 2019 to 2020 in Kabul, Afghanistan. In this role, he undertook a responsibility similar to that of a mayor, overseeing and managing the life support for three vital base camps: Resolute Support Headquarters (RSHQ), New Kabul Compound (NKC) and the U.S. national element in Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA). His leadership ensured the smooth operation of these crucial installations, contributing significantly to the mission's success.
Miller officially retired from the military in June 2022, after holding the distinguished rank of colonel.
