Board Chair Arlene Juracek commended Elmhurst for all their involvement on Fly Quiet, but has turned down the request.

ELMHURST, IL — The ONCC Board Chair has turned down Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley's request to join the Ad Hoc Committee for various reasons. The city said in response to Morley’s request for Elmhurst to be added to the Ad Hoc Fly Quiet Committee, ONCC Board Chair Arlene Juracek commended Elmhurst for all their involvement on Fly Quiet, but has turned down the request.
According to the city, in the letter, Juracek addressed the Mayor’s concerns about lack of representation on the Ad Hoc Committee from any communities on the diagonals of 4/22S.
“Committee Chair Annunzio represents Niles and lives in Park Ridge. In addition, Des Plaines is represented on the committee," Juracek said in the letter. "These communities are all directly impacted by operations on the diagonal in both east and west flow and have been active in the discussion."

She added that communities on the diagonal runways do have a vote at the committee level.
"I understand your concerns with use of the 4/22's, but as an analysis that was shared at the last meeting shows, it is only effectively 26 percent of the overnight traffic not that 50 percent that some originally feared,” Juracek said in her letter.
