Old Crimes Reported In Elmhurst Neighborhood
A woman says someone tried to kiss her at a party 14 years ago, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving old crimes, a car fire, retail theft, a speeding motorcyclist, a dog bite, trespassing and forgery. Here is information from the latest police reports:
Old crimes
- A woman told police Thursday that someone grabbed her and tried to kiss her in September 2010 at a party in the 100 block of Fellows Court. An officer tried to contact the suspect without success. Also, a woman in the same block told police the same day that she received a collections notice for lab work she never received between Dec 22, 2003, and April 21, 2004. She contacted the collections agency and informed it of the fraud.
Car fire

- Firefighters and police responded to a car fire about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Portillo's, 155 S. Route 83. The fire was put out without any problems.
Retail theft
- A man stole merchandise about 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. The man ran north across Robert Palmer. An investigation is pending. The man was described as white and wearing a light blue baseball cap, black glasses, red jacket and dark blue pants.
Speeding motorcyclist

- An officer tried to stop a speeding motorcyclist shortly after midnight at North Avenue and Route 83. The motorcyclist failed to stop and fled east on North Avenue, from York Street. An investigation is pending.
Dog bite
- A man was walking in the 100 block of North York Street when a dog lunged at him and bit his right hand, causing a scratch to his finger. The dog's owner was contacted and was able to provide updated vaccination records. DuPage Animal Care and Control was notified.
Trespassing
- About 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a person took a phone from behind the counter at Sky Zone, 325 W. Lake St. The suspect became argumentative after security confronted him. But he eventually returned the phone to the owner. Both parties left. Sky Zone asked the suspect to be served with a no-trespass notice. An investigation is pending.
Forgery
- Chicago Masonry Construction, 841 N. Addison Ave., told police Friday that a check issued by the business had been forged and cashed at an unknown Huntington Bank branch in Columbus, Ohio. An investigation is pending.
