Overdose At Elmhurst Nursing Home: Cops
In another case, a man and a woman make off with clothing from a local store, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police responded to cases involving an overdose, retail theft, trespassing, a fall, damage and threats. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Overdose
- Officers responded to a report of an overdose about 3 p.m. Friday at Bella Terra nursing home, 420 W. Butterfield Road. The person was administered medication and then appeared sleepy. The person was taken to the hospital.

- A man and a woman stole clothing about 9 a.m. Sunday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. The man was described as Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old, having brown hair and a beard, and wearing a light green puffy vest, a gray collared button-up shirt, dark khaki pants and brown shoes. The woman was described as Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old, having brown hair, and wearing a black and white puffy coat, green pants and black athletic shoes.
Suspicious
- A driver was speeding and circling the block about 1 p.m. Sunday in the area of the 600 block of Albert Street. The driver was identified, but refused to speak with officers. An investigation is pending.
Trespassing

- A woman filled three shopping carts with high-end items and then left without the carts about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. Officers spoke with the woman and served her with a no-trespass notice.
Fall
- While trying to get up onto a sidewalk, a man lost his balance and fell backward hitting his back and head on the bumper of his car. It occurred about 5 p.m. Saturday near the police station, 125 E. First St. Medics examined the man, but he refused to be taken to a hospital.
Damage
- A fire extinguisher case was damaged about 9 p.m. Saturday in the city's parking garage at 120 W. Adelaide St. The public works department was notified of the damage.
- Someone cut wire to Christmas lights between Wednesday and Sunday at a house in the 200 block of North Oak Street. An investigation is pending.
Theft
- A resident in the 400 block of South Fairfield Avenue told police Sunday that someone had stolen jewelry from her house at some point since Sept. 7. An investigation is pending.
Threats
- A woman in the 600 block of South York Street told police Sunday that she had been receiving various threats through social media from a suspect. She believed it was a violation of an order of protection. An investigation is pending.
