Elmhurst Pedestrian Bridge Coming, But Rubs Neighbors Wrong Way (patch.com) — Elmhurst residents on Fay Avenue are voicing strong concerns about the new northside pedestrian bridge over Route 83, which is slated for completion next May. Neighbors say construction traffic, tree removal, and drainage issues are disrupting their block, while city officials continue the state-led, grant-funded project intended to better connect the area to Berens Park.

Elmhurst Man Points Gun At Others At Home: Cops (patch.com) — Elmhurst police report a local man on South York Street is jailed after allegedly pointing a handgun at people in his home and being found with a large amount of cocaine. The district serves 8,209 students, with about 149 students per administrator, and has seen steady salary growth over the past decade amid ongoing educator shortages.

U.S. News & World Report ranks Elmhurst University top Midwest school for veterans (shawlocal.com) — Elmhurst residents can take pride that Elmhurst University has been ranked the Midwest's second-best university for veterans and a top performer for social mobility. The school is the only Illinois university in the top 19 regionally and supports many first-generation and military-connected students through financial aid, a dedicated veterans center, and national recognition for first-gen success.
   

5. North Central's Ari Elmayan Named CCIW Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week (cciw.org) — A standout North Central College runner has been named CCIW Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week after a strong performance at Wheaton's Gil Dodds Invitational. The conference reminder highlights Elmhurst University in Elmhurst one of nine CCIW members competing in this regional collegiate running scene.
