Police Arrest Man for Elmhurst Home Intrusion
The man got inside the house in the 200 block of Indiana through an unlocked back door.

The man who was found inside a home Aug. 31 in the 200 block of Indiana has been arrested.
An Elmhurst officer noticed that Jorge E Ruiz, 23 of Butterfield Road in Oakbrook Terrace, matched the description of a person who was wanted for home burglary near York and Butterfield, according to Elmhurst police.
Ruiz told detectives he tried to get inside homes in the 200 block of Indiana by ringing the doorbell and trying the door.

He said the home of the woman who found him in her master bedroom had an unlocked back door, and he went inside to look for cash when she confronted him, police reported.
The homeowner told police she found the him in her house at 10:45 a.m. Monday, and he seemed calm but sweaty. Ruiz reportedly told her he thought he was at a friend’s house, and she escorted him out and called police. He left on foot.

Ruiz was charted with residential burglary and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
