Police Seek Public's Help In Fatal Hit-And-Run Probe

Authorities are seeking information on a vehicle they believe hit a motorcycle on I-290 in DuPage County in May.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The Illinois State Police is asking for the public's help as they continue to investigate a fatal crash that happened in May.

On Friday, authorities said the probe into the collision, which claimed the life of a motorcyclist, is ongoing. The crash happened at about 11:15 p.m. on May 5 on westbound Interstate 290 just east of Route 83 in DuPage County, according to a news release from The Illinois State Police.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators with the ISP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit believe a second vehicle was involved in the crash and left the scene following the collision. Police are asking for the public's help in locating the vehicle and driver that fled the crash.
