Police issued a warning to a house where an underage drinking party was reported.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a chronic nuisance warning, a gym theft, a DUI, a cryptocurrency theft, a car burglary and a bad check. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Chronic nuisance warning

  • A chronic nuisance warning was issued Wednesday to a household in the 400 block of South Rex Boulevard. On March 15, a 57-year-old woman in the block was cited on a charge of hosting an underage drinking party at her house, police said.

  • A man told police that someone stole two credit cards from his locker between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday at LA Fitness, 620 N. York St. Someone later tried to make fraudulent purchases on the cards. The suspect was described as a white man, 25 to 30, and wearing a black winter hat, a black long-sleeve hoodie, black pants and white gym shoes.

Aggravated driving with a revoked license

  • Dexter Crawford Jr., 40, of Elk Grove, California, was arrested about 9 p.m. Tuesday at North and Clinton avenues on charges of aggravated driving with a revoked license, theft of services and possession of a fraudulent identification. He was also arrested on a warrant. Police said he was stopped for driving a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee that he was supposed to have returned to a rental car business. He was released.

DUI

  • A 30-year-old Chicago woman was arrested shortly before midnight Tuesday at Lake Street and West Avenue on charges of DUI (drugs), endangering the life or health of a child, attempted battery, improper lane usage, improper lighting, driving an uninsured car, violating minimum speed regulations and resisting a police officer. She was released.

Crypto theft

  • A resident in the 400 block of North Elm told police Monday that someone depleted all of his cryptocurrency accounts.

Car burglary

  • A woman told police that someone entered her unlocked car between 11:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Fictitious identification

  • Police were called about 4 p.m. Tuesday to Enterprise Leasing, 856 N. York St., for a report of a person trying to use a fictitious identification. The person was gone by the time police arrived.

Bad check

  • Elmhurst BMW, 500 W. Lake St., told police that someone wrote a bad check March 13 after the dealership finished repairs on the suspect's silver BMW X3. An investigation is pending.
