Propane Tanks Stolen From Elmhurst Businesses: Cops

The tanks were in cages and behind gates in industrial areas, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Propane tanks were stolen in recent days from three businesses in Elmhurst's industrial areas, police said.

According to police reports, someone stole three eight-gallon propane tanks between Jan. 11 and Jan. 24 from a steel cage in the back lot of Rotating Equipment, 421 W. Wrightwood Ave.

Eight propane tanks were also taken between 5 p.m. Jan. 20 and 10 a.m. Jan. 21 in a gated area in the back of AJ Manufacturing, 449 W. Wrightwood Ave., police said.

Additionally, five eight-gallon propane tanks were stolen between Jan. 2 and Jan. 24 from a locked cage in the back of WoodWorx Supply, 922 N. Oaklawn Ave., according to reports.

Investigations are pending, police said.
