Public Indecency, Game Battery: Elmhurst Cops
A man was charged with indecency at a public place in town, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving public indecency, a battery, soliciting without a permit, domestic battery, counterfeit bills and fraud. Here is information from the latest police reports:
Public indecency
- A 53-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 3 p.m. Monday outside Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave., on a charge of public indecency. Police said he was masturbating in his car within public view. He was released and given a no-trespass notice for the library.
Battery

- Shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, a person at Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn Ave., was battered by people with whom he had finished playing soccer. An investigation is pending.
Soliciting
- A 21-year-old Idaho Falls, Idaho, man was cited about 2 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Huntington Lane on a charge of soliciting without a permit under Elmhurst's ordinance.

- A 39-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of East Third Street was arrested about 7 am. Tuesday at his house on a charge of domestic battery. Police said an argument turned physical when the man grabbed a woman's upper arms and pushed her. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Officers responded to a domestic disturbance about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East North Avenue. A man said another person grabbed and choked him. Officers were unable to speak with the suspect. An arrest warrant has been issued.
Fictitious identification
- A 27-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of North York Street was arrested about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at Berteau and North avenues on charges of having no valid driver's license and possession of fictitious identification. He was wanted on Cook County and Northbrook warrants. He was released to Northbrook police.
Counterfeit bills
- A 19-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, all of Chicago, were arrested about 6 p.m. Wednesday on charges of forgery. Police said one of the men paid the restaurant with counterfeit money at DiLeo's Pizzeria, 193 E. Butterfield Road. Officers later found the men with counterfeit bills. They were released.
Fraud
- Two men tried to use fraudulent identifications to rent a car about 2:30 p.m. Monday at Enterprise Leasing, 896 N. York St. The men left when Enterprise denied them. An investigation is pending. One man was described as black, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8, slim, and wearing a black surgical mask and sunglasses. The other was described as black, in his early 30s, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, having a medium build, and wearing a black shirt with other colors and a black hat.
Scam
- An employee at 7-Eleven, 155 E. First St., was called by someone claiming to be 7-Eleven tech support about 3:30 p.m. Monday. The caller texted gift card barcodes to the employee's personal phone number. The employee was instructed to scan the barcodes and do a cash transaction. The employee complied.
Order of protection
- A resident in the 700 block of South Spring Road was served an order of protection about 8:30 p.m. Monday.
