Public Input Needed For Elmhurst Playground Updates

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Conrad Fischer Elementary School, 888 Wilson St., Elmhurst.

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst Park District will hold a public meeting to seek public input about Conrad Fischer Elementary School playground upgrades. The district is interested in hearing from residents with children or grandchildren ages 2-5. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Conrad Fischer Elementary School, 888 Wilson St., Elmhurst.

According to a release from the park district, the playground replacement is part of the district’s capital planning efforts, where nearly every year one of the district’s 18 playgrounds is budgeted to be renovated, providing an 18-20 year life cycle for each playground.

The park district said the information garnered at the meeting will be used to prepare a preliminary master plan for the park and playground, which will then be presented to the community online and with a survey to collect feedback. Following this, a final plan will be developed and presented to the park board for review and approval.
