Theft At Art Studio, Disturbance: Elmhurst Cops
The contents of a purse were stolen after it was left unattended at an art studio, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a purse theft, a domestic disturbance, a man fleeing an officer, bicycle theft, sexual assault and a person found on the ground. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Art studio theft
- A woman left her purse unattended about 8 p.m. Saturday at Pinot's Palette, 214 N. York St. Upon going to the art studio two days later, she found that money, makeup and a debit card were stolen from her purse.
Domestic disturbance

- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Fellows Court. A man and a woman said their argument never turned physical. The woman requested the man leave the residence. The man removed his belongings and left without any problems.
Fleeing an officer
- John D. Richard, 41, of Northlake, was arrested about 3 p.m. Monday at North and Clinton avenues on charges of fleeing and eluding an officer, driving with a revoked license, possessing marijuana, driving an uninsured vehicle, disobeying a traffic control device and improperly using lanes. He was released on bond.
Bicycle theft

- An unsecured Schwinn bicycle was stolen while it was left leaning against the north side of 7-Eleven, 525 Spring Road, shortly before noon Tuesday. The bicyclist went in to buy food. He found his bicycle missing 10 minutes later.
Sexual assault
- A domestic battery and criminal sexual assault were suspected of happening between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday at Extended Stay America hotel, 550 W. Grand Ave. An investigation is pending.
Person on ground
- An officer helped state police with a person lying on the ground about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday near Interstate 290 and St. Charles Road. The person became combative and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. State police went to the hospital and took over the investigation.
