Pushed At Bar, Pair Falls: Elmhurst Cops

A woman told police she was hurt after someone was shoved into her at a bar.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a woman pushed at a bar, two people falling at the same time, a fugitive driver, fires, a casing found at a restaurant and an abandoned car. Here is information from the latest reports:

Pushed at bar

  • A woman told police that another person was pushed into her about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at The Club Shot & Beer, 113 N. Addison. The incident caused her left leg to hurt. No injuries were seen. The woman refused medical treatment.

  • Two people told police that they both tripped on an uneven part of a sidewalk about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South York Street. They both suffered small cuts, but declined treatment.

Fugitive driver

  • A man who was stopped for squealing his tires about 1 p.m. Saturday at North Avenue and Route 83 sped away from an officer. An investigation is pending. The man was described as black, 25 to 35 years old, and having a large build and black dreadlocks.

Fires

  • A resident in the 100 block of South Oakland Grove told police Saturday about fire damage in his garage. It was believed to have happened in the week before he discovered it. An investigation is pending.
  • An outside fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. Saturday near Robert T. Palmer Drive and Park Avenue. A burnt box of matches was found. It was placed into evidence. An investigation is pending.

Casing found

  • A spent ammunition casing was found about 8 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Fry the Coop restaurant, 623 W. North Ave. The casing was placed into evidence.

Abandoned car

  • A car with a flat tire was left abandoned Aug. 28 on the street in the 600 block of West Gladys Avenue. Police told the registered owner that the car was red-tagged and was to be towed under an Elmhurst ordinance.
