Rare Elmhurst Arrest For Bike Theft: Police

ELMHURST, IL – Many bicycle thefts are reported in Elmhurst and other suburbs during the summer, but few suspects are caught.

On Saturday, the exception happened.

Tommy Lazzarini, 57, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Lazzarini stole a locked bicycle about 10:30 a.m. Saturday near Pilot Pete's Coffee & Treats, 128 W. First St., police said.

According to a report, Lazzarini was found shortly afterward.
