Rep. Conroy to Host 2nd Annual Property Tax Appeal Seminar

VILLA PARK, Ill. – In an effort to help residents save money on their property tax bills, State Rep. Deb Conroy (D-Villa Park) will be partnering with the Bloomingdale Township Assessor’s Office to host a Property Tax Appeal Seminar on Monday, June 16th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Glendale Heights Senior Center, located at 260 Civic Centre Plaza in Glendale Heights.

“One of the issues I often hear when talking to residents at their doors is the rising cost of property taxes,” Conroy said. “The values of homes in our communities have decreased, yet we have seen increases in property taxes. Families simply can’t afford the increasingly burdensome tax bills.”

The seminar, which is free and open to the public, will feature Bloomingdale Township Assessor John Dabrowski. The seminar will explain the process of how to appeal your property tax bill, as well as the various exemptions and freezes that residents may be eligible to apply for including: the Senior Citizens’ Assessment Freeze, General Homestead Exemption, Disabled Veterans’ Homestead Exemption, and Disabled Persons’ Exemption.

“With families in Illinois being taxed more than ever, I am committed to providing tax relief to the hard-working families here in Illinois,” Conroy said. “Whether that is by voting against tax increases or by providing seminars like this that can help connect residents to tax relief that they are eligible for.”
