Repairs On Route 83 Cause Overnight Closures In Elmhurst

ELMHURST, IL — Road repairs on southbound Route 83 in Elmhurst will require overnight lane closures of the two right lanes. According to a release from the city, attenuator repairs will require the two lanes to be closed beginning at 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and 8 p.m. Aug. 10.

According to the release, the two right southbound lanes will be closed between Frontage Road and I-290, but access to all ramps will remain open. The repairs are expected to be completed in time for rush hour the following mornings. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
