Ruckus At Business, Theft: Elmhurst Cops

A man who possessed fentanyl was banging on the windows of a business, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a disturbance at a business, a gravesite theft, a DUI, BB gun damage and the theft of a catalytic converter. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Disturbance at business

  • Saul Rodriguez, 34, of Villa Park, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bradford Systems, 945 Oaklawn Ave., on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Police said Rodriguez was running up and down the street banging on windows. He was found in possession of fentanyl. He was released on bond.

  • A vase was stolen Oct. 1 from a gravesite at Mount Emblem Cemetery, 520 E. Grand Ave. The theft was reported Wednesday.

DUI

  • Crystal P. Whitehead, 40, of Madison, Wisconsin, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at Route 83 and North Avenue on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license and driving an uninsured car. She was released on bond.

Converter theft

  • A catalytic converter was stolen between May 3 and May 5 from a vehicle owned by Power Distribution, 782 N. Industrial Drive.

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 100 block of West Virginia Street told police Monday that someone used her personal information to open an AT&T cellphone account. She reported the fraud to a collection agency.

Found

  • A person found a wallet with an Illinois driver's license that was later determined to be fraudulent. The discovery was about 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Hawthorne. An investigation is pending.
  • A red bicycle with an unknown make and model was found in the bushes about 11:30 a.m. Monday at Elm Park and Alma. The bike was placed into evidence.

BB damage

  • Youths used BB guns to damage a streetlight overnight Sunday in the 500 block of West Crockett Avenue.
