Scammer Approaches Woman In Elmhurst: Cops

The man had a Polish or Russian accent, but could speak English and Spanish fluently, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A woman told Elmhurst police that she was approached by a man who offered to sell her several Apple products.

So she then withdrew money from Chase Bank, 163 N. York St., to buy the items, police said.

Later, T-Mobile employees informed the woman the products were counterfeit and thus not legitimate Apple products, police said.

The man was described as white, 30 to 40, 6 feet tall, having blond hair and an average build, and having a Polish or Russian accent, but able to speak both English and Spanish fluently.

Police said an investigation continues.
