Scooter-Riding Elmhurst Suspect's Failed Getaway: Cops
In another case, a man punched a woman's car window during a road rage incident, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of resisting an officer, retail theft, DUI and criminal property damage. Here is information from the reports:
Failed getaway
- A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday on charges of resisting a police officer, obstructing a police officer and retail theft. Police said he stole two flasks and tried to take several bottles of liquor at Jewel, 944 S. York St. He also tried to steal a scooter to escape, but was unsuccessful and ran away. He was released.

- A 25-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Saturday on a criminal property damage charge. Police said the man brake-checked a woman and punched her driver's side rear window at North Avenue and Route 83, causing damage. The man fled, but was caught in Villa Park. He was released.
Retail
- A 43-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 6 p.m. Sunday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on a retail theft charge. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- A 39-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday at the train station, 128 W. First St., on a charge of theft of services. Police said the man swore at train conductors and refused to pay his fare. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
DUI
- A 27-year-old Naperville woman was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Geneva Avenue on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana, parking on the railroad tracks and driving an uninsured car. She was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 38-year-old West Chicago woman was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at York Street and North Avenue on a DUI charge. During the same stop, a 27-year-old Chicago man was charged with disorderly conduct. They were released.
- A 26-year-old Glen Ellyn woman was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, disobeying a traffic control signal, improper turning at an intersection and failing to signal. She was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 50-year-old Romeoville man was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Butterfield Road and Route 83 on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, possession of alcohol and failure to signal. He was take to the police station and then released.
- A 43-year-old Bloomingdale man was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI and improper display of registration. He was taken to the police station and then released.
