Sex Request At Elmhurst Business Alleged

In another case, a jack was used to lift cars to steal catalytic converters during broad daylight, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a request for sex at a business, theft, porch piracy, stolen money, a domestic disturbance and threatening messages. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Request for sex

  • A woman told police Thursday that a man at Super Ego Holding, a trucking company at 677 N. Larch Ave., asked her whether she wanted to go in the back of the tractor of a semi-truck and have sex with him. This was while she was taking a road test. The man denied making such a request.

Theft

  • Someone was using a jack to lift a car and look underneath it about 12:30 p.m. Friday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. When noticed, the suspect dropped the car and left in a gray Kia SUV. It was then discovered that catalytic converters were stolen from two cars along with a front license plate. An investigation is pending.

Porch piracy

  • A package was delivered and then stolen about 2:30 p.m. Friday from a condominium building in the 100 block of Fellows Court.

  • A customer at Sky Zone Trampoline Park, 325 W. Lake St., told police that his wallet was stolen Friday night. An employee later found the wallet, but money was stolen. Video footage showed a female picking up the wallet where it was later found and then leaving the building. An investigation is pending. The woman was described as black, thin, having red hair and wearing white shoes.

Domestic disturbance

  • A woman told police she was arguing with her ex-boyfriend while she was driving about 9 p.m. Friday at Butterfield Road and Kent Avenue. From the passenger seat, the man reached for the steering wheel, causing her to stop abruptly. He got out of the car and walked away. No charges were filed because of conflicting statements and no signs of injuries. Both agreed to separate.

Threatening messages

  • A woman at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, received a threatening video call about noon Thursday from her soon-to-be ex-husband. An investigation is pending.
  • A resident in the 800 block of South Bryan Street told police Saturday that he received numerous threatening messages from someone. He later got a phone call from someone demanding money and threatening his family.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 400 block of North Shady Lane told police Saturday that she received an invoice from someone she thought was a landscaping company that had done work at her home. She paid before realizing the invoice was fraudulent. The woman contacted her bank and was able to recover some of the money.

Argument

  • A woman told police that someone threatened her during an argument about 3 a.m. Sunday at Shell gas station, 654 W. North Ave. No complaint was signed.
