Status Of Elmhurst's Silverado Grill Site: Owner

The owner said the new restaurant would open late next summer.

ELMHURST, IL – A restaurant is expected to open in August or September in a new building at the old Silverado Grill site on Spring Road in Elmhurst, the owner said Monday.

In an interview, Anthony Gambino III of Silverado Spring LLC said he is unsure what type of restaurant is going to the site at 447 S. Spring Road.

He said he would either get a tenant or develop a restaurant concept himself.

Gambino is no stranger to Elmhurst's restaurant scene. He also has Doc's Victory Pub, Golden Boy Barbecue and Victory Meat & Seafood in Elmhurst. Like Silverado, Doc's is in the Spring Road Business District.

The new building at the Silverado site is about 7,000 square feet, more than the old restaurant's 4,000.

Silverado, which opened in Elmhurst in the 1980s, closed in fall 2022.
