Two people pushed each other, prompting a call to the police, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a store fight, car burglaries, a chronic nuisance, harassment, check fraud, an egging and a custody dispute. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Store fight
- Two people pushed each other about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the At Home store, 265 S. Route 83. That prompted a call to the police. The two separated and left.

- An officer saw a person trying to open a door of a parked car about 4 a.m. Sunday at Hawthorne and Eggleston. The person jumped in a Kia Optima, which was reported stolen, and drove away. The incident was listed as burglary to a motor vehicle.
- About 4 a.m. Sunday, someone entered a resident's unlocked car in a driveway in the 400 block of South Arlington. Once inside, the suspect found a garage door opener and entered the resident's garage. Nothing appeared to be missing. An unlocked Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen in the same block, but was later discovered abandoned in the 200 block of Grace.
Chronic nuisance
- A chronic nuisance warning was issued to a property owner Thursday in the 200 block of North Addison Avenue.
Converter theft

- A catalytic converter was stolen between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday from a car in the Whole Foods parking lot, 215 S. Route 83. It was reported the following day. An investigation is pending.
Harassment
- A woman told police a suspect harassed her about 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Park Avenue and Adell Place. The suspect denied doing so.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 400 block of South Argyle told police Saturday that someone used his information to apply for a COVID-19 injury disaster loan.
Check fraud
- A person told police he mailed a check March 5 from Cottage Hill and Park. Around that same time, a Postal Service mailbox in that area was burglarized. The check's amount was later changed. The transaction was flagged as fraudulent, so no loss was reported.
Egging
- A parked car and house were struck by eggs Saturday in the 400 block of North Berteau Avenue. An investigation is pending.
Drunk person
- Police responded about 1 a.m. Sunday to the 100 block of North York Street to an intoxicated person with minor injuries. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Bicycle theft
- A bicycle in a rack was stolen shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue. An investigation is pending.
Custody dispute
- A resident in the 300 block of North Clinton Avenue told police Sunday that a woman was in violation of court-ordered parenting custody times. An officer contacted the suspect, who denied the allegations. Both people were told to contact their lawyers to settle the issue.
