Talkin to the Tumbleweeds...

It has been a while since I posted here. Guess it is still a good place to vent. Yesterday was the deadline to have quarterly reports filed with the Illinois Election Board. I found one local official's report interesting and I will share it with you here. I have heard DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin is working on abolishing obsolete government units here in DuPage County. If that is the case he should start with York Township. My guess he won't because that seems to be a local Republican stronghold. If you look at Mr. Cronin's quarterly you can see that under expenditures he has given money to many local Republicans, the DuPage Republican central committee, and of course The York Township Republican Committee.
  I think some people are under the impression that Mr. Cronin is not a republican, his committee's expenditures beg to differ. My opinion is that Mr. Cronin's efforts to rid DuPage County of unnecessary governmental units is just window dressing at least until York Township goes the way of Suffolk County in Boston which does not exist as a taxing body in Massachusetts. If Massachusetts can get rid of an entire county surely DuPage county can get rid of York Township or am I aiming too low?
 One last interesting expenditure is $200 to Illinois Right To Life. Under their About section on their webpage this is how they describe themselves "Illinois Right to Life is a non-profit organization that educates on the beauty and value of all human life regardless of a person’s size, gender, race, age, or disability."
At first glance you might think they are some anti-Abercrombie and Fitch model organization but a visit to their Facebook page will show you that they are  a zealous anti-abortion organization. This donation by Mr. Cronin's committee to an anti-abortion organization is probably a safe bet at the moment but Dupage County is slowly moving Blue.
