About 1 p.m. Sept. 17, Elmhurst police learned of a reckless driver on Interstate 290, who had struck a number of things, the report said. She was found behind the wheel asleep in a parking lot in the 700 block of North York Street, police said.

She said she had been asleep for three hours and denied the damage to her car had just happened. She said she had not drunk alcohol since the night before, although police said they found two open bottles of vodka in her car.

Otero apparently did not like the look on one of the officer's faces and warned she would "slap the s---" out of him, according to the report.

Otero pushed the officer and stated he was "fake."

During one of the sobriety tests, Otero kicked officers, police said. She also said she was worried about her dog in her car, but police said they could find no animal.

When Otero said she was a teacher at the police station, she was asked whether she knew any good children's songs. She then sang "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," police said.

Police said they determined her blood-alcohol level at .30, nearly four times the legal limit.

Otero was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

She was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and counts of DUI, improper lane usage and transportation of open alcohol.
