Teen Bicyclist Struck In Elmhurst Intersection: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – A 15-year-old bicyclist was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car Saturday night at St. Charles Road and York Street, police said.

The collision was alcohol-related as the bicyclist had alcohol in a backpack and had been drinking before the crash, according to a police Facebook post. The driver of the vehicle was not impaired, police said.

The crash happened shortly after 9:30 p.m.

The incident remains under "active investigation," police said.
