Theft Suspect Batters Elmhurst Store Worker: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – A theft suspect at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., battered an employee as he was fleeing over the weekend, Elmhurst police said.
Police said the employee was taken to the hospital. The nature of the injuries was not divulged.
About 8 p.m. Saturday, two men were seen stealing merchandise, with one of them battering the worker, and then leaving in a white Ford Explorer, police said.

One suspect was described as black, 6-foot-2, about 200 pounds, having dreadlocks and wearing a white shirt. The other was described as black, 5-foot-8, 180 pounds, and wearing a white shirt with red and blue on it.
