Urn Stolen, Skater Falls: Elmhurst Cops
A bronze urn is reported stolen from a cemetery, police say.
ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police have responded to calls involving a stolen urn, a skater falling, a stolen catalytic converter, dumped counterfeits, a car burglary, a lost wedding ring and road rage. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Urn stolen
- A woman reported that a bronze urn was stolen from a family member’s grave in the last six months at the cemetery at 410 E. Lake St. The report was made Tuesday.
Skater falls

- Police responded to a fall at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Edgewood and Vallette. Medics took the victim to the hospital. The victim was on a skateboard when he fell and struck his head. The victim’s guardian was notified.
Converter stolen
- A catalytic converter was removed from a car parked in a driveway between June 14 and June 17 in the 200 block of North Walnut Street. The report was filed Monday. The metals in catalytic converters have become a lot more valuable in the last year.
Counterfeits dumped

- A person in the 200 block of South West Avenue told police that another person was seen dumping items into a dumpster about 4 p.m. Monday. Several counterfeit bills were found in the dumpster. The bills were placed into evidence. An investigation is pending.
Car burglary
- A person said someone forced entry into his car and removed a brown satchel containing jewelry and cash about noon Wednesday near Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York St.
Lost wedding ring
- A resident told police she was walking about 10 a.m. Wednesday from 135 to 255 N. Addison when her wedding ring fell out of her gym bag.
Pushed during argument
- A person told police that someone else pushed him during an argument about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of West Gladys Avenue. The other person denied getting physical.
Road rage
- A road rage incident happened about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at York and North. Two men got out of a car, approached another man’s car and threatened him with a knife. Both suspects left the area, but were later found in Melrose Park. One of them was placed under arrest and taken to the police station. He was released without charges, pending an investigation.
