Villa Park Fire Dept. earns Elmhurst Hospital "Run of the Month" award

Elmhurst Hospital’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has awarded its “Run of the Month” for October 2016 to the Villa Park Fire Department.
Paramedics Michael Barton, Jamie Bickley, Blaise Clairardin, Andrew Fillip, David Richardson, Britney Shlifka and Michael Tenerelli were recognized for their treatment of a 59-year-old female who had gone into cardiac arrest.
The crew used CPR and other lifesaving intervention to resuscitate and stabilize the patient, who was then transported to the Elmhurst Hospital Emergency Department.

In the “Run of the Month” program, Elmhurst Hospital’s EMS Team reviews ambulance runs by pre-hospital providers and selects one to be recognized based on the following criteria:
--Excellent communication from the field that resulted in the timely delivery of pertinent clinical information to the Elmhurst Hospital Emergency Department staff
