Villa Park Student Threatened Shooting At School: Cops

The boy made threats in front of a teacher and a dean, authorities said.

VILLA PARK, IL – A 13-year-old student at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park was arrested after he threatened to shoot people at another school he attends, police said Tuesday.

Last Wednesday, the teen told a teacher at Willowbrook High, "I'm going to shoot them b------ up," according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.

The teacher reported the incident to the dean. When speaking to the dean, the student said, "I'm going to f------ shoot them, not this school, everyone at my other school," police said.

He was referring to Menta Academy Midway in Chicago, where he attends part of the day, the news release said.

Willowbrook then called Villa Park police.

“As soon as our Villa Park School Resource Officer was alerted to the threat, he gathered law enforcement resources to bring about a safe resolution to the alleged threat,” Villa Park Police Chief Michael Rivas said in a statement.

The teen, who lives in Villa Park, faces two counts of felony disorderly conduct, authorities said.
