Villa Park Walmart Disturbance Leads To Arrest
The man drove away from officers and was later found with methamphetamine, police said.
VILLA PARK, IL – Officers responding to a disturbance Tuesday at Villa Park's Walmart, which is across the street from Elmhurst, ended up chasing a man, authorities said.
Dionte Washington, 25, of Maywood, was arrested on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, attempted fleeing from an officer and driving with a suspended license.
About 4 p.m. Tuesday, Washington was involved in the disturbance at Walmart on Route 83, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors. Officers saw Washington enter his car and then drive away, police said.

With the help of Maywood police, Washington was arrested shortly after. He was found to have a dozen pills containing methamphetamine, police said.
"The decision to elude our officers placed the public at great risk," Villa Park Police Chief Michael Rivas said in a statement.

Washington's bond was set at $100,000, with the requirement that he pay 10 percent to be released.
