Elmhurst, IL – Elmhurst Public Library hosts Douglas Tallamy, author of the 2021 One Book, One Community title, Nature’s Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation That Starts in Your Yard. The best-selling author coined the phrase “Homegrown National Park” to describe a grassroots call-to-action to restore habitat where we live and work, extending national parks to our yards and communities. Tallamy will speak about his book, the dangerous decline of plant and animal populations, and how we can all help solve the problem, starting in our own backyards. Q&A to follow.

Presented with the Elmhurst Cool Cities Coalition. Sponsored by the Friends of the Elmhurst Public Library.

One Book, One Community is an opportunity for the entire Elmhurst community to read and engage with the same book title. EPL encourages book clubs, families, and workplaces to consider using the title as a basis for discussion.
