Volunteers Needed For Rape Crisis Center For DuPage County

The organization is looking for volunteers to meet with sexual assault survivors at hospitals across DuPage County or at police departments.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The YWCA, which is the Rape Crisis Center for DuPage County, is looking for volunteers. According to a release, the organization is looking for volunteers to meet with sexual assault survivors at hospitals across DuPage County or at DuPage County police departments.

Volunteers offer support for survivors through the shocks of their trauma, according to the organization. Advocates get to make their own schedules and are only required to volunteer 24 hours per month.

According to the organization, volunteers were called out for 165 medical cases last year. Volunteers would need to cover at least two twelve hour on-call shifts a month, during which time they are free to go about their normal lives, but if they receive a call, they need to be able to be at the hospital within an hour.
