Wallets Stolen From Cars In Elmhurst: Cops
In another case, a fight was reported in a local neighborhood, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handed cases involving wallets stolen from cars, a fight in a neighborhood, a missing person, a dog issue and car burglaries, among other incidents. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Stolen wallets
- Someone entered a garage overnight Saturday in the 300 block of Holly Avenue and stole a wallet containing an Illinois driver's license and credit cards from a car. The person then made several unauthorized transactions. An investigation is pending.
- Police returned a wallet to its owner about 4 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Crescent Avenue. The wallet was recovered from a stolen car. The wallet's owner said someone entered her unlocked car while it was parked overnight and stole the wallet. Nothing else was stolen.

- Officers responded about 9:30 p.m. Friday to a fight in progress in the 100 block of South West Avenue. The caller said a man and a woman were fighting in the street. Officers could not find anyone. An investigation is pending.
Missing person
- On Sunday, officers found a car at York and Madison believed to be connected to a missing person case in Bensenville. The victim said she got lost after being out with friends. A Bensenville officer escorted the victim home.
Fugitive driver

- About 1 a.m. Saturday, an officer tried to stop a driver who had sped away from Bloomingdale and Addison officers. The driver failed to stop, last seen headed east on St. Charles Road.
Dog issue
- A woman was walking her dog on the sidewalk about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Avon Road when a dog ran out and tried to bite her dog. Her dog was not injured. DuPage County Animal Services was contacted.
Car burglaries
- An officer found a makeup bag in the street about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South Cottage Hill Avenue. The officer contacted the owner and found that someone had ransacked her car overnight. Nothing was reported stolen.
- An unlocked car was burglarized between noon Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East May Street. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
Stolen car found
- A Kia Sportage that was stolen in Chicago on Sunday was found parked and unoccupied about 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of South Parkside. The owner was notified, and the car was towed to the police department for processing.
