Westview/Oakbrook Elementary Have Their Annual McTeacher's Night

Teachers and staff volunteer to work during the fundraiser and McDonald's Donates a percentage of the sales back to the school.

Westview Elementary and Oakbrook Elementary of Wood Dale School District 7, each held a McTeacher’s Night at the Itasca McDonald’s on Irving Park Rd. This is a fundraiser that is hosted by McDonald's, the teachers and staff members volunteer to work a 1-hour shift during a 3-hour event and then a percentage of the night's sales are donated to the school.

On Monday, April 9th Westview Elementary held a McTeacher’s Night and Wednesday, April 11th Oakbrook Elementary held their McTeacher’s Night.

Teachers from both schools worked many different jobs during their event. Teachers helped take orders, worked the drive-thru window, made ice cream treats, cleaned the lobby and sold many delicious hot apple pies while dressed in a pie costume. Westview Elementary School’s third grade teacher Julie Wagner and fifth grade teacher Eleni Papanicolaou each took a turn in the Pie costume during their event and for Oakbrook Elementary Ashley Perz wore the pie costume almost the entire evening, all were very successful at selling the delicious hot apple pies that were so generously donated to the schools by the Owner/Operators the Nelson Family.

Westview and Oakbrook Elementary Schools raised a total of $1268.92 during these events and plan to put the money towards teacher grants.

This event would not have been successful without all the great teachers and staff from each elementary school volunteering their time, also a special thank you goes to Brook Windham and Anne Brock of the Westview/Oakbrook PTO Committee, who organized the event.
