White Pines’ Jim Geils Family Golf Nights tee off for the season May 17

BENSENVILLE, Ill. — Families are invited to hit the links together as the Bensenville Park District launches another season of Jim Geils Family Golf Nights beginning Sunday, May 17, at White Pines Golf Club, 500 W. Jefferson in Bensenville.

Starting at 4:30 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month through September, the event offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere where golfers of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the game together. Specially adjusted tee placements make the course more approachable, allowing participants to play at their own pace while taking advantage of an inexpensive family meal deal designed to keep everyone fueled for a fun evening.

Named in honor of former Bensenville Park District Commissioner Jim Geils, the program reflects his legacy of community service and dedication to bringing people together. Geils served on the board from 2013 to 2021, including terms as treasurer and secretary, and was widely respected for his commitment to both the park district and the broader community. In 2024, the Board of Commissioners officially designated the family golf nights in his honor, ensuring his impact continues to be felt by future generations.

“Jim believed in the power of community and creating opportunities for families to spend meaningful time together,” said Andrew Godfrey, PGA general manager at White Pines Golf Club. “These evenings are about more than just golf — they’re about introducing kids to the game in a fun, welcoming way and helping families build a lifelong love of golf together.”

Jim Geils Family Golf Nights take place from 4:30 p.m. to dusk May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16 and Sept. 20. Affordable pricing makes the experience accessible for everyone, with juniors ages 17 and under able to play for $5 and adults for $10, while cart rentals and ride-along options are also available for $10.
