Woman Batters Elmhurst Officers: Police

The woman was arrested on a charge of DUI, among others, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A woman stopped for suspected drunken driving ended up battering Elmhurst officers, police said.

Kiehla Banks, 29, of Richton Park, was taken to the DuPage County Jail. She was stopped about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of East North Avenue, police said.

According to a report, Banks, who showed signs of impairment, resisted and battered an officer as she was taken into custody. At the police station, she battered two officers, the report said.

Banks faces three counts of aggravated battery against a police officer and counts of resisting arrest, DUI, improper lane usage, improper lighting and failure to signal when required.

She was released from jail about noon Thursday.
