Woman Bitten By Dog At Elmhurst Estate Sale: Cops
In another case, a gun was displayed during a road rage incident in town, police said.
ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving dog bites, road rage, harassment and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Dog bites
- A woman was bitten when she petted a white bichon dog during an estate sale about 1 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Fairfield Avenue. The dog also scratched her left calf, causing two small puncture wounds. The report was sent to DuPage County Animal Services.
- A resident in the 100 block of North Willow Road tried to prevent one of her dogs from biting the other about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Instead, she was bitten on the wrist. She suffered two small cuts on her wrist. She was taken to the hospital.

- A handgun was displayed during a road rage incident about 6:30 p.m. Thursday near York Street and Robert Palmer Drive. The suspect said the person who informed the police approached his car aggressively. The suspect pulled out a gun, but did not point the weapon. The suspect has a valid firearm owner's identification card and concealed carry permit.
Harassment
- Several times, a man called his ex-girlfriend's employer in the 100 block of West Butterfield Road. The man drove through the parking lot to learn of his ex-girlfriend's whereabouts. The employer was concerned for her safety. An officer served the man a no-trespass notice for the entire property. The report was filed Monday.
DUI

- A 54-year-old Chicago man was arrested shortly after midnight Friday at Grand and Industrial avenues on charges of DUI, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 58-year-old Bensenville man was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Friday at Lake Street and Route 83 on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 52-year-old Bloomingdale man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at York Street and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI, driving the wrong way and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was taken to the police station and then released.
