ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst aldermen are poised to settle a lawsuit arising from a background investigation for a city police officer's position, according to city records.

On Monday, the City Council is set to vote on a settlement agreement with Amanda Reid, who filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court in October 2021.

The council's meeting agenda packet does not include the agreement. But a city resolution said the plaintiff made civil rights claims against a former city employee related to the background inquiry.
