Work Harassment, Disturbances: Elmhurst Cops
A former employee filed a harassment report against a co-worker, police said.

ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled calls involving work harassment, a store disturbance, a domestic disturbance, a dog bite, check fraud and a broken window. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Work harassment
- On Wednesday, a former employee filed a harassment report about a co-worker at Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave. Two days later, the school received several calls from the suspect, who left threatening messages. An investigation is pending.

- The manager of the Goodwill Store, 675 W. North Ave., told police that a person at the store was causing a disturbance and threatening the manager about 4 p.m. Friday. The suspect left the store and was later found by officers at Shell gas station, 654 W. North Ave. The suspect was asked not to return to Goodwill and given a no-trespass notice.
Domestic disturbance
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East Yorkfield. A male told police that a woman grabbed him by the shirt for no reason. The woman said the male grabbed her by her shirt. No complaints were signed, and the male went to stay with a relative.
Dog bite

- A woman was moving out when her neighbor's dog ran from the front yard and bit her on the forearm. The incident took place about 10 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North Howard. The woman refused medical treatment. The case was forwarded to DuPage Animal Services.
Check fraud
- Paper Blast Co., 650 W. Grand, told police Friday that one of its checks was cashed fraudulently. The company's bank stopped the transfer after being notified.
- A resident in the 400 block of Parkside told police Friday that someone gained access to his business checking account and was able to fraudulently cash two checks. The resident is not missing any checks from his checkbook. The account has since been closed.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 100 block of East Columbia told police Friday that someone used his personal information to open a checking account with Wells Fargo Bank and attempted an online purchase using the resident's debit card information. The resident was able to deny the transaction before it went through.
Broken window
- A resident in the 100 block of South Linden told police that someone broke a window on the lower level of her house between Feb. 1 and Feb. 19.
Converter theft
- Someone cut the catalytic converter from a car about 4 a.m. Sunday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside. A witness told police he saw two people use a Sawzall and a floor jack involving the car in question.
Drugs
- Officials were called to the 600 block of South Swain Avenue for a medical issue. A man told them that he took his prescription medication with alcohol and that he may be overdosing. Officers found 3 grams of cocaine. Medics took the man to the hospital. Charges are pending.
