Worker Slumped Over At Elmhurst Gas Station: Cops

The employee admitted he had been drinking, police said. He was asked to clock out.

ELMHURST, IL – An employee was on duty Wednesday night at the Shell gas station at 654 W. North Ave., but there was a problem, police said.

The worker was found slumped over in the chair behind the register about 8 p.m., police said. The man told officers he had been drinking and fell asleep.

Shortly after, the store manager arrived and asked the employee to clock out for the evening, police said.

  • A resident in the 100 block of East Elmhurst Avenue told police Wednesday about seeing several key marks on his car. An investigation is pending.

Disorderly conduct

  • A woman told police that her manager got in her face and put both hands on her chair about noon Wednesday at Edward-Elmhurst Health Center, 172 E. Schiller St. Police referred to the case as disorderly conduct.

Retail theft

  • A woman stole two bags full of merchandise about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mariano's, 678 N. York St. An investigation is pending. The woman was described as Hispanic and wearing a gray baseball hat, a gray T-shirt, dark leggings and dark shoes.

Drugs

  • A man lying in a stairway knocked on his neighbor's door and claimed to have been shot about 7 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Fellows Court. The man had no injuries and admitted to using drugs. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. Police listed the case as drug possession. Charges are pending.

Theft

  • A red Schwinn mountain bicycle was stolen while left unattended about 3:30 p.m. Monday at Chipotle Mexican Grill, 139 N. York St.
