Yet-To-Open Elmhurst Brewery Seeks More Outdoor Dining
The business is expected to open later this month. It made a request to the city.
ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst brewery that is expected to open soon is looking to expand its space for outdoor dining.
Phase Three Brewing, 494 S. Spring Road, recently requested 400 square feet at the corner of the rear city parking lot for an enclosure to house its trash, recycling and grease receptacles.
According to the city, this would allow the brewery to have eight more tables for outdoor dining.

The City Council is set to vote on an agreement with the brewery Monday. It would be technically considered a lease, but the city would not charge a fee.
In a memo, the city said the added outdoor dining would mean an estimated increase of $86,000 in income for Phase Three.

This would result in more sales tax income and improve the quality of outdoor dining in the Spring Road business district, the city said.
The space for the enclosure is unused now, so the number of parking spots would remain the same, the memo said.
Earlier in the summer, the brewery told Patch it expected to open in August. An inquiry last week about a specific date went unanswered.
