Youth Drinkers Flee From Elmhurst Cops: Police
The 58-year-old homeowner was charged after youths were suspected to be drinking, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police charged people with allowing a minor to drink, aggravated fleeing, domestic battery and DUI. Here is information from the latest arrest log:
Underage drinking
- A 58-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 700 block of South Swain Avenue was cited about 10 p.m. Saturday at his house on a charge of allowing a minor in possession of alcohol under 21. Police said they received a call about juveniles walking outside with alcohol. When an officer arrived, several of the juveniles hopped over a fence and ran away from the home. A black bag belonging to one of them contained an open bottle of alcohol. A juvenile was cited. The 58-year-old was the homeowner.
Domestic battery

- A 30-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of North Willow Road was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at his home on charges of domestic battery and criminal property damage. Police said the man struck a woman during an argument and broke her phone. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 58-year-old man who lives in the 200 block of East Fremont Avenue was arrested Saturday on two counts of domestic battery. A woman told police that the man injured her about noon Oct. 14 at the man's home. She also reported several other instances of battery. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Aggravated fleeing
- Jerry Warren Jr., 33, of Chicago, was arrested about 5 a.m. Friday at North and Berteau avenues on charges of aggravated fleeing or eluding an officer, speeding, driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured car and having tinted windows. Police said the man sped away from an officer. With help from other agencies, the man was caught after a chase a short while later. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI

- A 27-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Saturday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI and parking on the roadway. Police said he was found asleep behind the wheel in traffic. He was taken to the police station and then released.
