EVANSTON, IL — A second man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place at an Evanston park last month.

Investigators reviewed available video footage of the area, and they determined that two small groups of people exchanged gunfire in the park before fleeing on foot.

Multiple bullet shell casings were found at the park, police said.

On April 24, detectives identified Zacar Lee as a person of interest, and police took him into custody after a traffic stop in Chicago.

Last Wednesday, investigators arrested another suspect, identified as 18-year-old Evanston resident Jourdin Hill. He was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at his home.

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office reviewed both cases and approved charges against Lee of felony attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. Hill was charged with three felony counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said. Anyone who may have additional information about the case was urged to contact the police department or send in an anonymous tip by texting 274637, beginning the message with “EPDTIP,” followed by the tip information.
