EVANSTON, IL — A fourth suspect believed to be involved in an April shooting at a Howard Street business.
At 6:08 p.m. on April 21, police responded to the 700 block of Howard Street after receiving emergency calls reporting gunshots. Officers later found a man nearby with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in his arm near Main Street and Elmwood Avenue.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital to treat his injury.
Investigators found evidence of gunfire inside a local business and also reviewed video and witness statements.
Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old suspect on May 1, a 19-year old suspect two weeks later, and a 23-year-old suspect on June 1. Intensive follow-up investigation led police to 20-year-old Evanston resident Damon Massie, who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident.
The Cook County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the case and approved a felony charge of mob action against Massie.
The investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
