The Seldoms Bring New Full-Length 'All at Once' To Evanston's Studio5 In October (patch.com) — Evanston arts lovers can catch the world premiere of The Seldoms' new full-length dance work "All at Once" at Studio5 on Dempster Street this October. The Cubist-inspired piece combines contemporary dance, live percussion, and striking costumes, expanding earlier Picasso-themed work into a full ensemble production. Tickets are tiered, with discounted pricing for students, seniors, and military attendees.
2. New Ryan Field In Evanston Details Concessions Plan For Opening Season (patch.com) — Fans heading to the new Ryan Field in Evanston this season can expect faster AI-powered checkout, a budget-friendly $5 menu, and a slate of well-known Chicago food brands. Stadium leaders say the goal is to make game-day food more affordable and efficient while still offering indulgent local favorites. Future plans include an Evanston and North Shore lineup to spotlight neighborhood businesses on game days.
3. Evanston Announces Sept. 11 Memorial Ceremony at Firefighters Park (patch.com) — Evanston's fire and police departments are inviting residents to a Sept. 11 memorial ceremony at Firefighters Park, at Simpson and Maple, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The program will feature local officials, first responders, and a 9/11 survivor, offering a community-focused remembrance on the attacks' 25th anniversary alongside national observances in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.
4. Main Street Mural gears up for official opening on Sept. 19 (evanstonroundtable.com) — A new community-created Main Street Mural behind Open Studio Project on Main Street is set for its official opening on Sept. 19, and neighbors can already see much of it from the Metra platform. Hundreds of handmade tiles from Evanston residents, plus a bold new design by Chicago muralist Oscar Joyo, honor both the neighborhood's present and the fading student mural that once covered the wall.
5. Utility work starts for 605 Davis tower (evanstonnow.com) — Utility work has begun at 605 Davis Street for what is slated to become Evanston's tallest residential tower, but the city has not yet issued foundation permits. Officials say developers must submit more documentation, even as Vermilion Development insists the project remains on schedule for an anticipated 2028 move-in.
