Police say the SUV was found on its side and the driver later died at a nearby hospital, while the cause of the crash remains under investigation and the victim's name has not yet been released.
• Residents get preview of Mapping Black Evanston project (evanstonroundtable.com) — Evanston neighbors gathered at Lula B. Sherman United Methodist Church to preview a new Mapping Black Evanston project that's collecting stories from Black residents for an interactive history map. Organizers are still seeking more local participants to share memories of homes, hangouts, and landmarks that shaped Black life in Evanston and at Northwestern.
• Officials discuss expanding language access (evanstonnow.com) — Evanston residents should know that Cook County leaders met in town to expand language access services, highlighting recent steps the city has already taken. Officials discussed new translation tools, countywide translation requirements, and ways to ensure immigrants feel welcome and can access government services despite federal cutbacks.
