Attempted Armed Robbery Reported Near South Evanston Lakefront
2 suspects fled into Calvary Cemetary after trying to rob a man at gunpoint Sunday evening, police said.

EVANSTON, IL — An armed robbery was reported in an Evanston alley near South Boulevard Beach Sunday, but police said the alleged victim was not cooperating with the investigation. Around 6 p.m., a 22-year-old Evanston man ran over to a neighbor in the 400 block of Sheridan Square asking for help, according to police reports.
"They are going to shoot me," he said. "Call the police."
The neighbor reported seeing two men or boys behind him who ran south down the alley and jumped over a fence into nearby Calvary Cemetery.

Police said the man who ran from the pair told the neighbor he had to "drop something off." He then went to the home of a relative, where he spoke to police.

The 22-year-old victim told police two people tried to rob him and ran away. Police said he did not with to cooperate with the investigation and did not offer any further information.
